Hoteliers and business owners in some parts of Coast region say a slump in tourism has forced them to close their businesses and lay off workers. Kenya Tourism Board figures show tourist numbers fell by nearly 13 per cent at the end of 2015 as the country battled insecurity and travel advisories by several countries. And as Mercy Kandie reports, stakeholders hope that improved security and a Sh1.2 billion incentive programme for charter flights will revamp the sector.
